The uber-enthusiastic pigs (Ten Pigs) return to give credence to the warning that too many cooks spoil the broth. When one hungry pig prepares a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, his porcine companions arrive one by one, eager to contribute additional ingredients, no matter how ridiculous or disgusting. This madcap rhyming tale boasts bright, boisterous, large-scale illustrations that will work well for storytime sharing.

A pig finds soaking in a bubble-filled bathtub to be pure bliss. Its joy is short-lived, though, when, one by one, nine additional pigs pile in to join the fun. The only way for the first pig to reclaim the oasis is to go undercover (as a wolf). The humorous rhyming text is buoyed by the jubilant ink and digital illustrations.

The farmer gets his animals to help him "make a farm"--an undertaking that requires building a barn, planting crops, and painting a sky. The story's meta aspect isn't strong (most picture book readers won't question the idea of barn-building animals), but illustrations of the creatures behaving like humans (e.g., Miss Cow sleeps with a purple eyeshade) are reliable preschool-crowd-pleasers.

After Santa has an accident on Christmas Eve, the Easter Bunny gamely agrees to drive his sleigh. Santa's reindeer criticize the Bunny's many mistakes, but when they realize that "he isn't trying to take the place of Santa," they relent and help him finish the deliveries. Readers who don't mind mixing their holidays might enjoy this goofy story, bolstered by action-packed illustrations.
